Does microneedling work?

Experience the difference a professional medical grade treatment can make.

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that involves puncturing the skin with tiny needles to stimulate the body's natural healing process. The procedure has gained popularity in recent years as a way to treat a variety of skin conditions.

The short answer is yes, microneedling can be an effective treatment for certain skin concerns. Here are some of the benefits of microneedling:

  1. Stimulates collagen production: The tiny needles used in microneedling create micro-injuries in the skin, which trigger the body's natural healing process. This includes the production of collagen, a protein that gives skin its elasticity and firmness. By stimulating collagen production, microneedling can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  2. Improves skin texture: Microneedling can also help improve the overall texture of the skin. The tiny needles create micro-channels in the skin, which can allow for better absorption of skincare products. This can lead to smoother, softer, and more even-toned skin.
  3. Reduces the appearance of scars: Microneedling has been shown to be effective in reducing the appearance of scars, including acne scars and surgical scars. By stimulating collagen production, microneedling can help improve the texture and colour of scars, making them less noticeable.
  4. Helps to reduce dark spots on the skin (known as hyperpigmentation), which can be caused by a number of factors such as; sun damage, hormonal changes and acne. Microneedling encourages the growth of new skin cells and improves the absorption of topical treatments. Microneedling can improve the overall appearance of hyperpigmentation.

While microneedling can be an effective treatment for certain skin concerns, it's important to note that it may not be suitable for everyone. People with certain skin conditions, such as eczema or rosacea, may not be good candidates for the procedure. Additionally, microneedling should only be performed by a licensed and experienced provider to ensure safety and effectiveness.

In conclusion, microneedling can be an effective treatment for a variety of skin concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation. However, it's important to do your research and consult with a licensed provider to determine if microneedling is right for you. With the right approach, microneedling can be a powerful tool in achieving healthy, beautiful skin.

Let me start by saying that MJ is a God sent.

I'm so thankful that I have finally got my confidence back and it feels so good to leave the house and go out without wearing make up and covering my face with so much foundation.

For 5 years I have suffered from dark spots and pigmentations all over my face and it lowered my self esteem and confidence to do anything or see anyone and it got to the point that I avoided going out as I was embarrassed of what my face looked like.

I used a lot of creams, lotions, serum and even had micro needling done but it just made it worse. I was about to give up as I was so tired of searching and thought I'd just have to live with this for the rest of my life until my husband and I searched one more time and found MJExposé Health & Beauty and also finding out that it was in Christchurch was just super...thank you so much MJ for helping me get my confidence back and it feels so good to just go out and not waste so much time applying foundation on my face.
